![]() lots of unaffiliated offsets in the area right now. BTW, I posted a bunch of links in the FS section of the board in the eBay forum. I think i was subconsciously hoping to re-affirm my own opinions. I think I was pretty pre-determined on the bandmaster at the time I posed the shootout question on the board. I can pm you my forewarning dealing with that guy. As far as that '72 twin in LB, I was definitely looking at that one and had it in mind as the basis of this post. You're privvy to most of what I'm looking at. especially if I can negotiate the price down. The Bandmaster, I think, will fit my "bill" better anyway. When I do gig, I'm pretty sure I'll only be hitting the small venues initially. I want something that is not too loud that will cater to surf and other sonic explorations. Btw, were you looking at the '72 twin in long beach? I was actually going to buy that one. Fender reverb amps with tube rectifiers just work better with distortion pedals at low & medium volume levels. OffYourFace wrote:Are you gonna gig with these amps? For the house & small venues, the bandmaster reverb is a better choice. Anyone who would take the '72 Twin over the '73 Bandmaster? I have a much better frame of reference on the twin.Īnyone want to chime in on Silverface Bandmasters? I've seen Blackface bandmasters selling for the same or less as this '73. The thing is, I don't really know what to expect from the bandmaster from a plugged-in sound perspective. Speaking of tubes, the one possible negative is that I'm running a 6L6 platform right now and it would be *nice* to have an E元4 platform (possible -1 / +0). In fact, I like just about everything about the Bandmaster (on "paper") better, including the near-minty condition and NOS tubes running in it right now. Bandmaster should achieve a bit of breakup at lower volumes at 40 W (+3). I like the idea of a lower powered amp in a head-only config (+1). Played and fairly beat-up but working well. Near mint.ħ2 Twin Reverb w/ master volume (not push-pull). Price seems on the steep side but likely negotiable. So, at this moment I've got a bead on a couple of amps and here's the situation:ħ3 Bandmaster Head w/ Reverb and Tremolo. Some seemingly pretty good amp opportunities have slipped by me recently and it's made me a bit frustrated.
